Be wary of fake news, Government tells Cambodians

Pen Bona, Minister Delegate attached to the Prime Minister and Head of the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit, has urged Cambodians at home and abroad to remain vigilant against fake news and misinformation, especially amid heightened sensitivity over the Cambodia–Thailand border situation.
Speaking at a press conference today on the progress of the Cambodia–Thailand ceasefire implementation, Pen Bona said: “In such a sensitive context, our people must be especially wary of fake news and unclear-source information that can contaminate public sentiment or provoke confusion.”
He called on the public to rely solely on verified government channels for accurate updates, including daily briefings from official spokesperson groups and content from verified websites and social media pages of:
Prime Minister Hun Manet
Senate President Hun Sen
Ministry of National Defense
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Ministry of Information
The Government Spokesperson Unit
-The National Commission for Information and Public Opinion Coordination
Bona reaffirmed the Cambodian government’s commitment to protecting peace, sovereignty, and territorial integrity through diplomacy and multilateral cooperation.
He also thanked Cambodians everywhere for their dedication to defending the nation’s sovereignty, dignity, and unity. Fresh News
